I am ashamed to say that it has been a year since I spent two nights here with my girlfriends! In three weeks, I am doing flowers for a wedding in town, and the bride and groom are staying here. So, I had to get my act together and write a long overdue review. Attention to detail is what comes to mind about this beautiful house. The owner has taken great pains to create such a welcoming ambiance. From the dishes, glassware, towels, linens….everything new and matching and well thought out. I am a floral designer, so I appreciate all the little touches and details that make this place so special. The house itself is stunning, with the stained glass windows, architecture, woodwork, etc. Having visited Nevada City for the past 30 years, I have stayed in many lovely places. This is my favorite by far! Being in the heart of downtown is such a plus, and congregating in the gorgeous backyard at the end of the day to enjoy a nice barbeque dinner was great. As other vacationers have said, pictures do not do this house justice. The curtained off space adjacent to the living room is delightful, and a nice private little area to sleep two people. we had four adults and two kids, and the house was spacious and able to accommodate all of us in comfort and style. Sitting at the table in the “parlor” playing games at night made us feel like we were living in a by-gone era (and that was a good thing). What a relaxing retreat we ladies had. Five stars all around!
